Hana Kato

The Artist

I'm Hana. My journey with Japanese traditional tattooing began in my grandmother's stories of our family's artistic heritage. I specialize in irezumi, the ancient art of Japanese tattooing that combines bold outlines, vibrant colors, and deep cultural symbolism. From majestic dragons and fierce tigers to delicate cherry blossoms and flowing koi, every piece I create honors the traditions passed down through generations.

My work bridges the gap between ancient wisdom and modern expression, creating tattoos that are both timeless and deeply personal.

Tattoo Aftercare

Follow these steps to ensure your new tattoo heals properly and looks its best for years to come.

1

Leave the Bandage On

Keep the initial bandage on for 2-4 hours after your session. Your artist will let you know the exact time based on your tattoo.

2

Wash Gently

After removing the bandage, wash the tattoo gently with lukewarm water and fragrance-free antibacterial soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel.

3

Moisturize

Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free moisturizer or tattoo aftercare ointment 2-3 times daily. A little goes a long way.

4

Let It Peel

Your tattoo will start to peel and flake after a few days. This is normal. Never pick, scratch, or peel the flaking skin.

5

Protect from Sun

Keep your new tattoo out of direct sunlight for at least 2-3 weeks. Once healed, always apply SPF 30+ sunscreen to keep colors vibrant.

6

Avoid Soaking

No swimming pools, hot tubs, baths, or saunas for at least 2-3 weeks. Quick showers are fine.
